Dr. Azi Nia is dedicated to providing excellent pediatric dental care and building confidence in her patients. Creating a positive dental experience customized to each young patient is central to Dr. Nia’s practice philosophy. She believes in supporting her patients and their families by finding realistic solutions and preventing problems before they arise. Dr. Nia’s greatest goal is helping a child overcome their fear and anxiety, getting them to a point where they actually enjoy their appointments
Dr. Azi (as her patients call her), attended the Georgia State University, graduating with her undergraduate degree in mathematics and chemistry. She continued on to the Medical College of Georgia where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. In order to become a specialist in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Nia completed a two-year residency at Colorado Children’s Hospital where she also served as chief resident. During these two years, Dr. Nia treated a diverse population of medically compromised patients and people with special healthcare needs and was an active participant with the craniofacial lip and palate team. Shortly thereafter, she received the status of Diplomate by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Not all pediatric dentists are certified by American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). The ABPD certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that lead to high-quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary 2-part examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the delivery of quality patient care. A pediatric dentist certified by ABPD is also known as a Diplomate of American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
When Dr. Nia is not practicing dentistry she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and practice partner, Dr. Farshid Nia, their son and daughter and a Shih Tzu named Leo. She also enjoys reading and walking.
